To assist in an investigation of network security, Heylo users may be asked to install "Carbon Black Response" on their personal computers. This is completely optional and cannot be done without your consent. If you do consent to this tool, follow these instructions to install it.


You do not need to run this on your company computer. You also do not need to run this on your personal computer if 1) you do not consent to adding this security monitor, or 2) you do not connect to any company resources (e.g., webmail) from your personal computer.


How to install the Carbon Black agent on a Windows computer


  1. Download the Carbon Black installer's ZIP file from this link: https://we.tl/t-DvBlgE6ggS
  2. Go to the folder you you saved the file, right-click the file ("carbon-black-windows-heylo.zip"), and select "Extract All..."

  3. Once extracted, double-click on the "CarbonBlackClientSetup" file.

    You will likely be prompted to confirm that you'll allow the installer to make changes to your computer. If so, click "Yes". (If you're asked for a username and password, enter the username and password you use to log in to your computer.)
  4. Click "Install"
  5. After it has completed the installation process, click "Finish"
  6. Send a quick email to helpdesk@outra.co.uk letting them know you've installed it


How to install the Carbon Black agent on a macOS computer


  1. Download the Carbon Black installer's ZIP file from here: https://we.tl/t-cLvkbTTvd3
  2. Double-click the file ("carbon-black-macos-heylo.zip") and open the folder it created
  3. Double-click on "CarbonBlackClientSetup.pkg" which opens the installer screen
  4. Click "Continue" twice, then "Install". You'll be prompted to enter your computer's password in order to allow the installer to run.
  5. You may get a prompt telling you that a System Extension has been blocked. It'll have an option to open the "Security & Privacy" preference. Click open. You'll get a screen like this:
  6. Click "Allow" and close the window
  7. The installer should resume. Once it's finished, you'll see a success screen:
  8. Click "Close" and feel free to delete the "carbon-black-macos-heylo" ZIP and folder
  9. Send a quick email to helpdesk@outra.co.uk letting them know you've installed it
